Laura Herring is a great listener. She leveraged this asset first as a high school counselor, then as a psychologist before embarking on her heroic leadership journey to build the first HR consulting company catering to the emotional and practical needs of relocating employees.
Today I published Part 2 of my Lead Positive Profile with Laura on my Psychology Today blog. In the profile, Laura explains how she became the ears (and eyes) of her clients so she could help them provide the much-needed support for their employees in transition.
Here are some of the most inspirational quotes from her interview. For the full read, please go here. For part 1 of the interview click here.
On adding value for her clients:
When your client really gets it, you become their eyes and ears in the field, and then you help them create a product for their people.
On finding help when you least expect it:
Once I started, this employee here, that corporation there, they started lifting us up in ways that I never knew existed.
On what’s next:
So, that’s what my next hero’s journey’s going to be: Reaching out to the corporate world and, of course, individuals and try to use my book as a vehicle to say, “Anyone can achieve what they want to achieve.”
